Just 1 minute walking from “Jardines del Arroyo” townhouses on Benahavís Pueblo we have a part of the Guadalmina River known as the Angosturas del Guadalmina, a family adventure that year after year brings together many athletes and holiday makers to enjoy this great outdoor experience.
With the high summer temperatures it is not advisable to go hiking, especially on fairly demanding routes. That is why those who love to disconnect and discover the natural environment that surrounds us, summer is not the best time of year to do this kind of activity, all of this, even thinking that in the south of Spain we usually enjoy some more pleasant temperatures, it does not take away that from 30º any route becomes heavier and it is enjoyed less. Therefore we have to look for alternative plans and this time we have gone to make one of those ideal hiking routes for the summer. Specifically, we move to the municipality of Benahavís in Malaga, where it crosses the Guadalmina River, which rises a little higher in the Puerto del Madroño. As it passes through the so-called “Comedor de la Costa del Sol”, due to the number of restaurants and bars that this typical white village has, with a remarkable Arab past, where we can find a most interesting fluvial route.
I recommend that you watch the video below to give you a clearer idea of how the full route is and also to check how well we had it (if you like click here and follow our channel on YouTube).
